Jamie Richardson
Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Teacher and School Counselor

Jamie received her undergraduate degree in Education from Stephen F Austin State University (1991).  After working six years as a teacher, Jamie sought additional tools to meet the needs of students by earning a master’s degree in psychology from Houston Baptist University in 2000.  Since that time she has worked as a school counselor, serving students from grades Pre-K through High School, and in private practice. She has been a high school counselor at the ACT Academy,  McKinney High and Westlake High School. In her time as a school counselor she has served as a Lead Counselor and mentored five school counseling interns. She enjoys working with students and educators alike.

Blending a background in education with her counseling philosophy, Jamie helps students and adults reach their potential in all areas of life: academically, professionally and personally.

Jamie has a three-step philosophy:
  1. meet client where they are
  2. help them determine where they want to go
  3. empower them with the tools they need to be successful along the journey

Jamie is a member of the Texas Association for College Admission Counseling. She is a native Texan having spent most of her life along the Gulf coast. An avid beach lover, Jamie spends as much time as possible traveling to the beach. Jamie move to Austin in 2007 to work at a school district in the west Austin area. Jamie enjoys living in Austin where she is involved in her church and OpenTable, an organization that supports teens aging out of the foster care system. When she is not working, she loves playing with her dog and enjoying the many restaurants, and entertainment venues that Austin offers.
